Food Processing -Mofpi subsidy Consultants

1. Mega Food park Scheme of MoFPI

Project component

Mega food park scheme in this scheme Minimal food Processing Center at the farm level and centers is to have facility for weighing, sorting, grading waxing, packing, pre-cooling, Control Atmosphere (CA)/ Modified Atmosphere (MA), cold storage, normal storage and Individual Quick Freezing(IQF). Mobile pre-cooling vans and reefer trucks.Mofpi subsidy Consultants

Distribution hubs with multi products and multi Control Atmosphere (CA)/ Modified Atmosphere(MA) chambers/ cold storage/ Variable Humidity Chambers, Packing facility,Cleaning in Process (CIP), Fog treatment, Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) and blast freezing, Irradiation facility.

Financial assistance: 

50% of the eligible project cost in general areas and at the rate of 75% of eligible project cost in difficult and hilly area to a maximum of Rs. 50 crore per project.

Release of Grant:

The grant-in-aid under the scheme is released in four installments of 30%, 30%, 20% and 20%.

Credit linked back-ended subsidy @ 40% of the total project cost limited to Rs. 30.00 lakh per project in general areas and @ 50% of project cost limited to Rs. 37.50 lakh in NE Region, Hilly States and scheduled areas.

2. Creation/ Expansion of Food Processing/Preservation Capacities(Unit Scheme)

Project components

Eligible project components for grant includes the cost of plant & Machinery and Technical civil work. Cost of ‘Utilities’ essential for the plant i.e. Water pipeline, DG set, Boiler, Solid waste treatment plant, ETP, etc. under the eligible project cost subject to restriction of above cost being maximum 25% of the total project cost.

Pattern of Assistance: 

35% of eligible project cost in general areas and @50% of eligible project cost in the North East States, difficult areas, etc. to max. of Rs. 5.00 crore per project.

Release of Grant:

Grant is released in two installments each @50% of grant in the following manner:

Eligible Project Cost:

Includes the cost of plant & Machinery and Technical civil work including applicable taxes except for ineligible items Water pipeline, DG set, Transformer, Solar panels, Boiler, Solid waste treatment plant, ETP, etc. will be considered under eligible project cost subject to restriction of above cost being  maximum 25% of the total project cost.

3. Creation of Forward and Backward Linkage Scheme

Project components:

 I. Backward Linkage: Integrated Pack-house, Milk Chilling Centre(s)/ Bulk Milk Cooler(s), Pre-Cooling Unit, Reefer boats, Machinery & equipment for minimal processing, Machinery & equipment for packing.

 II.  Forward Linkage: Frozen storage, deep freezers, refrigerated display cabinets, cold room, chillers packing, packaging, etc.

III.  Transport: Refrigerated/ Insulated transport/ Reefer Vans.

Pattern of Assistance:

35% of the eligible project cost for general areas and @ 50% for North East States, Himalayan States, etc. upto Rs. 5cr per project.

Release of Grant:

The grant-in-aid under the scheme is released in three installments of 25%, 40% and 35% as per following schedule.

Eligible organization:

Promoter of food processing unit, Entrepreneurs, farmer producer organization, farmer producer company, self help group, joint venture, NGO, public and private company.

4. Setting-up/Up-gradation of Food Testing Laboratories Scheme

Pattern of  Assistance

25% of the cost of technical civic work to house the equipment and furniture and fixtures associated with the equipment for general areas and 33% for difficult areas.

Grant Assistance

1st installment of 40% of the total grant under the schemes.

5 .Research & Development in Processed Food Sector Scheme

Eligible Criteria:

All Universities, IITs, Central/ State Government Institutions, Government funded Organizations, R&D laboratories and CSIR recognized R&D units in private sector.

Financial Assignment:

50% in general area and @ 75% in NE Region and difficult areas of eligible project cost subject to maximum of Rs. 17 lakh and 22 lakh respectively.

Funding Pattern:

  • 100% of cost of equipment, consumables and expenditure related to Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow /Research Associate.
  • Lump sum provision upto Rs. 1 Lakh for TA/ DA for project related travel like survey, data/ sample collection, etc. and for attending the meetings of the Expert Committee to present the project proposal and subsequently for the project review presentation.
  • Institutional Charges equal to 10% of project cost subject to maximum of Rs. 3 Lakh for non-academic institutions and Rs. 5 Lakh for academic institutions.
  • For Private organizations/universities/ institutions, grant is given to the tune of 50% of equipment cost in general areas and 70% in difficult areas.

6. Grant-in-Aid to Food Processing Units for Implementation of Food Safety and Quality Management System(HACCP) Scheme

Financial Assistance:

50% in general area and @ 75% in NE Region and difficult areas of eligible project cost subject to maximum of Rs. 17 lakh and 22 lakh respectively.

Eligible Organizations/ Agencies:

Central/ State Govt. Undertakings/ Organisations and Private Sector firms will be Page 2 of 37 eligible for reimbursement of expenditure towards implementation of above standard.

Eligible Sectors:

Proposals of units processing perishable items like fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, poultry, seafood and fish will only be considered eligible.

7. Scheme for Promotional Activities, Advertisement, Publicity, Studies and Surveys

Project Components:

1) Seminars/ Workshops.

2) Studies/ Surveys.

3) Exhibitions/ Fairs.

4) Advertisement and Publicity.

Financial Assistance:

50% of the cost of the event or maximum of Rs. 5 lakhs would be provided.

Eligible Organizations:

  • Assistance for National/ International Seminar/ Workshop like Apex Industry Bodies like CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI, ICC, AIFPA etc., Central/ State Governments, Autonomous Bodies and Public Sector.
  • Assistance for EXHIBITIONS/ FAIRS/ ROAD SHOWS, Government/Academic Bodies, National Level Industries Associations like FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI, ICC, and AIFPA, etc.

Release of Grant:

 Seminars/ Workshops : Approval of the grant-in aid will be considered on submission of document.

Exhibitions/ Fairs : Financial assistance will be released/reimbursed in one installment as per the payment.

8. Human Resources and Institution – Skill Development (SHRISD) Scheme

COMPONENTS OF THE SCHEME:

Development of Course Curriculum , Establishing Training Center (TC)

Financial Assistance:

maximum of Rs. 5.00 lakhs per QP for development of training.

Eligibility:

Recognized Central/ State/ Deemed University, Colleges/ Institutions of Food Technology, Govt. approved Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), NABL accredited Food Labs.

Release of Grant:

Grants-In-Aid will be provided at the rate of 50% of cost of plant & machineries at maximum of five training modules per TC it will be released by the Ministry to eligible institutions/ organizations in two equal instalments i.e. 50% advance and remaining 50.

9. Operation Greens Scheme

Project Component:

  1. Price Stabaisation measures(MoFPI will provide 50% of the subsidy through NAFE mofpi consultant
  2. Integrated Value Chain Development Projects
  3. Capacity Building of FPOs & their consortium
  4. Quality production 
  5. Post-harvest processing facilities
  6. Agri-Logistics
  7. Marketing/ Consumption Points

 

Financial Assistance:

50% of the eligible project cost in all areas, subject to maximum Rs. 50 crore per project. In case where PIA is/ are FPO(s), 70% of the eligible project cost in all areas, subject to maximum Rs. 50 crore per project.
