Scheme 1 : Mega Food Park Scheme Of MOFPI

The Mega Food Park Scheme aims to establish Minimal Food Processing Centers at the farm level, equipped with facilities for:

  • Weighing
  • Sorting
  • Grading
  • Waxing
  • Packing
  • Pre-cooling
  • Control Atmosphere (CA) / Modified Atmosphere (MA)
  • Cold storage
  • Normal storage
  • Individual Quick Freezing (IQF)
  • Mobile pre-cooling vans and reefer trucks

Additionally, distribution hubs will feature:

  • Multi-product and multi-CA/MA chambers
  • Cold storage
  • Variable Humidity Chambers
  • Packing facilities
  • Cleaning in Process (CIP)
  • Fog treatment
  • IQF and blast freezing
  • Irradiation facilities
  • General Areas:. 50% of the eligible project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 50 crore per project
  • Difficult and Hilly Areas: 75% of the eligible project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 50 crore per project.

The grant-in-aid under the scheme is released in four installments:

  • 30% of the total project cost
  • Another 30% of the total project cost
  • 20% of the total project cost
  • Final 20% of the total project cost
  • General Areas: 40% of the total project cost, limited to Rs. 30.00 lakh per project.
  • NE Region, Hilly States, and Scheduled Areas: 50% of the total project cost, limited to Rs. 37.50 lakh per project.

Scheme 2 : Creation/Expansion of Food Processing/Preservation Capacities (Unit Scheme)

The eligible project components for the grant include:

  • Cost of plant & machinery
  • Technical civil work
  • Cost of essential utilities for the plant, such as:
    • Water pipeline
    • DG set
    • Boiler
    • Solid waste treatment plant
    • Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

These utility costs are considered part of the eligible project cost but are restricted to a maximum of 25% of the total project cost.

  • General Areas: 35% of the eligible project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 5.00 crore per project.
  • North East States and Difficult Areas: 50% of the eligible project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 5.00 crore per project.
The grant is released in two installments, each comprising 50% of the total grant amount, in the following manner:
  1. First Installment: 50% of the grant
  2. Second Installment: 50% of the grant

The eligible project cost includes:

  • Cost of plant & machinery
  • Technical civil work, including applicable taxes (excluding ineligible items)

Utilities such as water pipeline, DG set, transformer, solar panels, boiler, solid waste treatment plant, and ETP are included under the eligible project cost, subject to the restriction that these costs do not exceed 25% of the total project cost.

Scheme 3 : for Creation of Infrastructure for Agro-Processing Clusters

To create modern infrastructure for food processing units based on cluster approach.
  • Basic infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and drainage.
  • Common facilities such as testing laboratories, cold storage, warehouse, packaging units, etc.
  • Up to 35% of the eligible project cost in general areas and 50% in NE Region, Hilly States, and scheduled areas. Subject to maximum of Rs: 10 crore

  • General Areas: 35% of the eligible project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 5.00 crore per project.

The grant-in-aid under this scheme is released in three installments:

1. First Installment: 25% of the grant

2. Second Installment: 40% of the grant

3. Third Installment: 35% of the grant

  • Entrepreneurs
  • Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)
  • Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs)
  • Self Help Groups (SHGs)
  • Joint Ventures
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
  • Public and Private Companies

Scheme 5 : Grant-in-Aid to Food Processing Units for Implementation of Food Safety and Quality Management System (HACCP) Scheme

  • General Areas: 50% of the eligible project cost, subject to a maximum of Rs. 17 lakh.
  • NE Region and Difficult Areas: 75% of the eligible project cost, subject to a maximum of Rs. 22 lakh.
  • Central/State Government Undertakings/Organizations and Private Sector firms are eligible for reimbursement of expenditure towards the implementation of the HACCP standard.
  • Units processing perishable items such as fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, poultry, seafood, and fish are considered eligible for the scheme.

Scheme 6 : Operation Greens Scheme

1. Price Stabilization Measures:
  • MoFPI will provide 50% of the subsidy through NAFED.
2. Integrated Value Chain Development Projects:
  • Development and integration of value chains to ensure seamless connectivity from farm to market.
3. Capacity Building of FPOs & Their Consortium:
  • Training and development programs to enhance the capabilities of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and their consortiums.
4. Quality Production:
  • Initiatives to ensure high-quality production standards.
5. Post-Harvest Processing Facilities:
  • Establishment of facilities for processing agricultural produce post-harvest.
6. Agri-Logistics:
  • Development of logistics solutions for efficient transportation and storage of agricultural products.
7. Marketing/Consumption Points:
  • Establishment of points for marketing and consumption to enhance the reach and sale of agricultural produce.
  • General Areas: 50% of the eligible project cost, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50 crore per project.
  • FPO(s): 70% of the eligible project cost, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50 crore per project.
