Assistance

  • Price Subsidy Component: A 15% subsidy on yarn for handloom weavers through direct benefit transfer (DBT) to linked bank accounts, with quantity restrictions.
  • Transport Subsidy Component: Reimbursement of transportation costs for yarn to reduce input expenses for weavers.

Eligibility

  • Individual handloom weavers.
  • Agencies such as:
    • Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
    • Joint Liability Groups (JLGs)
    • Cooperative Societies
    • Handloom Producer Companies
    • Weaver Entrepreneurs actively engaged in weaving and owning handlooms.

Components

  • Subsidized Yarn Supply: Includes cotton hank yarn, domestic silk, wool, linen, and blended yarn of natural fibers.
  • Warehouses and Depots: Establishing facilities in handloom clusters to ensure ready availability of yarn.
  • Online Tracking: Usage of platforms like the e-Dhaga app for real-time tracking of procurement, supply, and beneficiary details.

Period:

  • Implementation period from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
