  • ‘Amusement Park’ means a theme park or a water park or an adventure park or an entertainment park or biological park or desert park for providing recreational or fun or entertainment facilities with amusement rides, games, ropeways, water slides, restaurants, theme areas, activity areas, etc. (not mandatory to have all the features) on a minimum land area of 10,000 sqm with investment of at least Rs. 5 Crore.

  • ‘Camping Site’ with a minimum land area of 8,000 sqm having at least 10 furnished tented accommodation along with dining, toilet facilities with investment of at least Rs. 2.00 Crore.

  • ‘Caravan’ means a specially built vehicle registered with Transport Department, Government of Rajasthan which is used for the purpose of group-oriented leisure travel with seating capacity of at least 4 persons and bed capacity of at least 2 beds.

  • ‘Cruise Tourism’ means any yacht or/cruise vessel with a minimum seating capacity of 20 persons or/and with a minimum accommodation capacity of 8 beds with hybrid engine and licensed by Government of Rajasthan, such vessels should have capacity of operating in the state’s lakes and rivers on pay-and-use services. It is mandatory for these vessels to adhere to proper waste management practices.

  • ‘Eco Tourism Unit’ means a tourism unit offering accommodation, meal, and other eco tourism activities (as defined in Rajasthan Ecotourism Policy 2021) while preserving and promoting areas of natural and ecological importance.

  • Film City:
    An integrated studio complex over at least 10 acres, offering film-making facilities and flexible outdoor shooting areas. Can serve as a tourist spot with attractions like gardens, parks, museums, and shopping. May include peripheral development like hotels, restaurants, and retail.

  • Health Resort:
    A resort with at least 10 lettable rooms on 8,000 sqm land and an investment of Rs. 2 Crore. Offers short-term stays with yoga, meditation, naturopathy, and other wellness activities (Ayush-based).

  • Heritage Hotel / Heritage Property:
    Hotels in historic buildings (e.g., forts, palaces, havelis) built before 1.1.1950, certified under the Rajasthan Heritage Policy. Exempt from minimum investment/plot size. Must retain original architecture; any new construction shouldn’t exceed 50% of total built-up area.

  • Heritage Restaurant:
    A restaurant functioning in a certified Heritage Property. No minimum investment required.

  • Hotel Housing:
    Allows combined hotel and housing projects on a single plot—minimum 8,000 sqm for existing and 10,000 sqm for new proposals. Must maintain a 65% hotel and 35% residential/housing built-up ratio, as per UDH/LSG rules.

  • Indoor/Outdoor Play Zone:
    Facility for adventure, recreation, games, and entertainment for all age groups. Requires a minimum land area of 1,000 sqm and an investment of at least Rs. 2.00 Crore.

  • Integrated Tourism Village:
    A large tourism project (minimum 15 hectares) integrating at least 5 types of tourism units. May include villas, townhouses, etc. for up to 20% residential use (max 5% commercial). 15% for green cover and 5% for open-air theaters or cultural stages. High-density uses like hotels not allowed if coverage exceeds 20%. Detailed guidelines to be issued by relevant departments.

  • MICE/Convention Centre/Conference Hall:
    Air-conditioned halls with a minimum carpet area of 5,000 sq ft and Rs. 2.00 Crore investment. Used for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.

  • Hotel:
    A facility offering accommodation with at least 10 lettable rooms, on a minimum land area of 500 sqm, with an investment of at least Rs. 2.00 Crore.

  • Museum/Art Gallery
    A public unit with a minimum 5,000 sqft carpet area that displays tangible/intangible artifacts. It must promote diversity, sustainability, and be open and accessible to all

  • Resort
    A facility offering recreational activities and lodging (in cottages/rooms/tents) with a minimum land area of 8,000 sqm and investment of at least Rs. 2.00 Crore, or as per prevailing building bylaws.

  • Resort Housing
    Includes a resort and multiple residential units (e.g., villas), allowed on land over 8,000 sqm. It requires approvals and is permitted in designated planning zones. Must follow all applicable building bylaws and regulations.

  • Restaurant/Cafeteria
    A unit with investment of at least Rs. 1.00 Crore, accommodating at least 40 persons/visitors. It must have a modern kitchen and proper sanitary facilities for men and women.

  • Ropeway
    Refers to ropeways developed under the Rajasthan Ropeways Act, 1996, and other relevant rules/orders.

  • Rural Tourism Units
    As defined in the Rajasthan Rural Tourism Scheme – 2022, updated from time to time.
